PART I : EURO-MAT SUMMIT | THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY |  06-11-2024 | From 13:30 till 17:30

Introduction of Eldert Jan Van Herk, General Manager Euro-Mat

The future of construction supply is a complex and evolving landscape, shaped by various stakeholders across the industry. Let’s explore this topic through the perspectives of seven different speakers, each offering unique insights into the challenges and innovations that lie ahead.

I.       Global Perspective: Grupo ACS by Luis Cellier – Head of Institutional Relations & Markets

As a global leader in construction and infrastructure, Grupo ACS in Spain begins with highlighting the importance of sustainability and digitalization in construction supply. II.      Architectural Vision by Jesus Aparicio Guisado-  PhD architect & full professor of Architectural Design at the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM).

Next, architect Jesus Aparicio Guisado shares his perspective on design’s role in the future of construction supply. The future of construction lies in adaptive and flexible designs that can accommodate changing needs. Architects need to work closely with suppliers to source materials that are not only sustainable but also versatile, allowing for easier modifications and reducing waste in the long run.

III.           Local Distribution Perspective: Martin Tobler, CEO HG COMMERCIALE

As in other industries, there is also a growing demand in construction for digital solutions that can make processes more efficient. Construction material supplier HG COMMERCIALE (HGC) has been operating its own e-commerce channel for some time now. In order to digitalise direct business between construction material manufacturers and building contractors, HGC founded cubotoo AG.
The aim of the subsidiary was to develop an innovative B2B marketplace that brings building contractors together with the relevant providers for sourcing construction materials.
In 2024 a strategy extension has been decided: cubotoo is to set up for internal and external customers process enhancements based on the use of AI. https://www.inside.hgc.ch/de/
