Hagebau Fachhandel is developing a new store concept. Soon, the woodworkers of the cooperation will have the opportunity to set up self-service areas tailored to their professional target groups. According to Hagebau, the concept has been developed together with three pilot companies since February 2018. The first pilot plant, Theile woodworking center in Elsterwerda, modularly built a 200 square meter self-service store with 60 shelves and around 10,000 items module by module. For the second half of 2018, the development of self-service areas is planned for the two other pilot companies, Holz Hamm in Mainz and Holz Braun in Reutlingen.
“We presented the concept to the first shareholders at the Hagebau Holzhandelstag in June and want to start the general rollout at the general assemblies in November,” says Andreas Frey, head of the Hagebau specialization system Holz-Profi.
