Fermacell announces price increases
Fermacell has announced price adjustments for the Fermacell, James Hardie and Aestuver products from January 2019. All key cost indicators have risen sharply in the past, according to the company. “Although we are constantly working on measures to offset at least some of the cost increases,” says CEO Dr. Ing. Jörg Brinkmann, “however, the overall sharp rise in costs makes a price increase for 2019 unavoidable.”
According to the company, the scarcity of different raw materials on the world market is causing their prices to skyrocket. In addition, the situation in the logistics industry is intensifying as a result of rising diesel prices, scarce human resources and significantly higher tolls. In addition, industry-wide pay increases lead to a significant increase in personnel costs for the company, according to the statement.
“We are and will continue to be a reliable partner to the building materials trade and a transparent and appropriate pricing policy is an important prerequisite for this partnership-based cooperation,” says Dr. Ing. Brinkmann.
