As part of Dach + Holz in Cologne, Gerhard and Paul-Hermann Bauder have announced that they have retired from operational management after 36 years as managing directors on January 1, in order to change to the newly founded advisory board. “For us, the responsibility for a family business is not only in the successful development of the company, but also in the successful transfer of business management to the next generation,” said the brothers.

So it is clear that the roof specialist remains an owner-managed family business. With the change in the advisory board, the three brothers of the fourth generation, Jan, Mark and Tim Bauder, together with Gerhard Einsele have taken over the management. Jan Bauder is responsible for export and finance, Mark Bauder takes over responsibility for technology, Tim Bauder for marketing. All supported and accompanied by Gerhard Einsele, responsible for sales.

As it was called in Cologne, the manufacturer sees itself well positioned for the future. With more than 1,000 employees, a turnover of 572 million euros was achieved in six plants in Germany, one plant in Bruck, Austria, and 13 foreign companies in 2017. The export share is 42 percent. From 2013 to 2017, the record amount of around 100 million euros was invested in the future. The goal of the next generation is also to expand the market position in Germany and Europe. “We want to be the number one in Europe too,” said Jan Bauder at the fair, “with high-quality roof systems, a large system diversity and a comprehensive service.”
